FROM TINKERING TO TRAILBLAZING

The ElectriChef story begins with Bill Jones Sr., a skilled machinist who was passionate about problem-solving and grilling. While managing a stainless steel food handling equipment company, he spent many days on Florida’s beaches for both business and leisure.

In his downtime, Bill Sr. loved to grill, but in the places he was staying, he discovered just how quickly outdoor appliances corroded away due to the high-salinity environment of the coast. Additionally, local zoning codes often prevented the use of open flame grills, which severely limited options for grilling.

Taking his rich engineering background and experience with stainless steel, Bill Sr. came up with an ingenious solution: a stainless steel grill fueled solely by electricity. While electric griddles were already on the market, an electric grill powered by 240V of electricity to perfectly match the performance of traditional fuel sources had yet to be invented.

The result? A powerful, durable grill that outlasts harsh coastal environments, never rusts, and is without flames to remain compliant with local regulations. Word of Bill Sr.’s new grill spread rapidly, from beaches in Florida to New York and California.

A professional tinkerer, Bill Sr. loved the challenge of a new problem and always sought ways to improve on an existing idea, which led him to invent the ElectriChef grill.

Bill III and Clydette Jones

Bill’s son and his wife Clydette inherited the company in 2010 and expanded ElectriChef’s reach internationally while modernizing production and improving the grill’s technology.

Tommy & Ginger Davis

Bill III’s stepdaughter and her husband inherited the company in 2025 and continue to advance Bill Sr.’s vision of innovative improvement and Bill III’s professional growth.
