FAQS
My grill won’t heat up when I turn it on
To determine why your ElectriChef grill won’t heat up, follow these diagnosis steps:
- Is the light on the digital control panel turned on? If not, double-check to see if it’s plugged in. Once you’ve confirmed that the grill is plugged in, check your circuit breaker to see if it has been tripped. If it has been tripped, try re-flipping the breaker. If both the grill is plugged in and the breaker isn’t flipped, then you may need to replace your control board.
- The light on the digital control panel is on, but I’m still not getting heat. This indicates that there is an issue either with your control board, relay, or heating element. Call us at (800) 442-7207 for additional help.
Depending on the age of your grill, you may have warranty coverage. To buy a new control board, check out our parts catalog.
I can’t get the temperature to adjust
See previous procedure.
What do the temperature gauges indicate and why do they differ?
Each ElectriChef grill displays two temperatures – one on the hood of the grill and one on the digital control panel.
The thermostat on the hood of the grill represents the actual temperature inside the top of the hood. When you first turn your grill, this should be close to the actual weather temperature.
The thermostat on the digital control panel represents how hot the heating elements are set at, to reach the desired temperature as you grill (350 degrees Fahrenheit is the preheat temperature).
When you first turn on your grill, these two gauges will vary, however, as the heating element is left on, the temperature on the hood should start to reflect the temperature set on the heating element.

How do I clean my grill?
ElectriChef grills were designed to be maintained easily. We recommend just using warm soapy water for cleaning. The grates on your ElectriChef grill can be cleaned with a grill brush and oven cleaner if desired, without concern of damage. The grates are also dishwasher safe.
For additional maintenance, you can use an appliance polish/cleaner made for stainless steel, though this is not necessary.
Since ElectriChef grills are flameless, does that mean they won’t catch fire?
No. While the heating element is flameless and uses no combustible fuel, the food and grease you cook is still inherently flammable. Fires can still be ignited from fatty and oily foods.
Will a fire cause problems for my ElectriChef grill?
Yes. Fires can be destructive to the grill. Please do not leave your grill unattended and practice safe and responsible grilling.
If my ElectriChef grill catches fire, can I use water to put it out?
Yes. Despite being fully electric, small-to-moderate water usage is acceptable for dousing a fire. Sprinkling or spraying water doesn’t pose a risk of damaging your grill.
Can I service my own ElectriChef grill or do I need to use an authorized repair technician?
ElectriChef grills were designed to be easy to work on. If you feel like you have enough technical competency to repair your own grill, you may do so. ElectriChef technicians are available during normal working hours to help walk you through any repairs over the phone.
If I try to service my ElectriChef grill will I void the warranty?
The details of your ElectriChef grill’s warranty are outlined here. Please call us at (800) 442-7207 before attempting any repairs to determine if your actions will void the warranty or not.
